When I met Jason, we were both in extremely stressful jobs and needed a break. He treated me to a few days away in Northumberland. I was so excited having seen this place and mentioning I wanted to go there so points awarded to Jason there! He was after all trying to impress me. A mini road trip was planned and off we went!
Northumberland is a landscape offering opportunity for escape not only to a new place but a different time. It is steeped in history.
Northumberland is a wildly varied county with the high open spaces of the Cheviot Hills providing a haven to walkers and wildlife alike and the beautiful unspoilt coastline with award winning beaches at Bamburgh, Lindisfarne and Alnmouth.
It was mid to late autumn heading into winter and the light was fantastic for photography. My camera was packed! We stated in a quirky apartment, a true hidden gem. It is ideal for couples wanting a romantic break.
Each of the barn apartments are arranged around a stunning enclosed courtyard offering outside seating.
The furnishings are themed and carefully chosen to compliment the individual architecture and original artwork featured throughout. There is also much to discover & surprise!
It is cosy and warm, featuring a mezzanine sleeping area with a small en suite and hosts a ‘Tree’ in the living/Kitchen area!
For a taste of knights of old, come to this apartment and go back in time!
Take up your seat snuggled between down-filled cushions next to a roaring log fire. Select a fine wine from the range in the wine cabinet.
Tasteful creative decorations are displayed which really adds to the feel and theme of the ‘medieval’ experience.
Jason cooked us a romantic meal under the large tree supporting the main living area. The kitchen facilities are fantastic!
Hidden in the central tree inside are corks of past visitors, some with comments and dates written on. We popped a few ourselves and added to the collection!
